This Extremely Rare Tractor of which only 6 specimens exist today throughout the United States and Canada), is an example of a 1918 Samson Sieve Grip-Tractor, and would certainly bring back memories to those familiar with early 20th century tractors that were built back in the day. They were famous for their distinctive, open-tread steel wheels that were designed to grip loose and hilly terrain. GM bought the Samson company of Stockton, California in 1917, in an effort to compete with Ford's tractor business. But the production of the Samson Grip Tractor was very short lived. It's price tag of $1,750 and it's over three ton mass made it no match for Ford's cheaper and more nimble tractor of the day. Thus, the Samson Sieve Grip-Tractor has became an early resident of this dusty museum hall and a part of Times Gone By.
