Long Lake along
the
Bishop Pass
Trail - is one of over
4000 lakes in the Sierra
Nevada Mountains. The
most likely reason for
it's name is because it's
length is so great in
comparison with it's
width. The
Bishop Pass
trail runs the length of
the lake, and it seems
to take a great deal of
time to reach the end of
it's shores when
traveling in either
direction. The lake lies
at 10,760 ft of elevation
and is a great location
for camping and fishing
or just enjoying a day of
sightseeing along it's
beautiful banks.
